Jane performs and writes in classical and folk projects, and works as a session musician, accompanist, arranger and teacher in Berlin, London and Europe. 
Current groups include contemporary folk trio Nightlark, the Celtic folk collective Huas, Ibarroule and Silver Tassie ceilidh band. 

In recent years she has been writing for her London-based folk-jazz group Flekd, who released their debut EP and performed successful gigs at the Royal Festival Hall and other tour venues around UK and Berlin.

Biography

Jane began performing as a teenager at festivals and concerts alongside giving classical recitals and composing. She gained the ABRSM Laura Marco Prize on flute and performed solo concerts for Dorset Youth Music and with the Purcell School.

Her classical training in flute performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama included tuition with Roger Armstrong, Philippa Davies, Pat Morris and Susan Milan. Study in jazz, improvisation and composition was with tutors including Keith Tippett, Richard Jones, Richard Ingham and Huw Warren.

She has performed as 1st and 2nd flute and piccolo with orchestras including Welsh National Opera, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Sinfonia Cymru, Sinfonietta NorthEast, and she has performed solo concertos with orchestras including the Shaftesbury orchestra.

As a member of contemporary music ensembles, performances include at Cambridge Festival and the isle of Ischia, and as a soloist at contemporary music festivals including Vale of Glamorgan. 

Co-writing and touring with many singers and bands, she has performed at folk festivals across the UK including Sidmouth, Larmer Tree, Cambridge, Chippenham, BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards, Brecon Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Festival, and venues across Europe.

She has toured Europe in the contemporary folk duo Folk&South and arranged and recorded on their debut album. Concerts with HK119 Finnish multimedia artist included Secret Garden Party and Electric Picnic while touring her Imaginature album (One Little Indian Records). She has performed  also worked with Musica Planina (Balkan folk), Laika (European folk), Moveable Feast (World folk), a jazz duo with guitarist Jeff Rodrigues, My Gosh Marvellous Bigband and Brazilian and Latin jazz groups.
